There are a number of reasons why the only option is to pay by credit card:
1) A credit application hasn't been made - the form can be found at the bottom of the DofE Essentials home page:
2) The completed credit form contains someone else's ID no.
3) The account hasn't been linked to the user's ID no.
4) The user has logged in using an account which doesn't have the relevant permission
