To save your route as a .GPX file and export it, select the "Export GPX" option on the "Edit Route" pane:
It is also possible to import a .GPX file into eDofE Mapping by selecting "import GPX", clicking on "Choose File" then selecting the relevant map and clicking on "Open" then "Save"
Please note that any information entered manually into the route card (e.g. escape routes, supervisor contact details, activity times) will not be included within the file name. the .GPX file will save the actual route that has been created on the map, including the checkpoints, waypoints and leg descriptions. if you would like to share the complete information on your route card, the best option would be to use a .PDF writer to save and send your route card.
At the moment, the maximum file size is 2MB or 3000 waypoints. if your .GPX file is larger than this, reduce the size by splitting the route into two or more files, or reduce the number of waypoints. Most GPX software packages have the ability to do this. GPX map files can only be viewed via a specialist mapping application.
