Adults are able to print certificates on behalf of participants and onto high quality paper which is available to order/ purchase via eDofE Essentials.
Before you order any blank copies from ASL, don’t forget to do a test run on a plain piece of A4. This will allow you to see what the design looks like and ensure that the alignment is set up correctly on your printer.
Who can print certificates?
This function is available to Leader accounts and above that have the ‘Can download personal
information to CSV files’ permission applied.
Where can I print certificates?
You can print certificates from the left-hand menu under 'Award approvals' where a new ‘Certificate of Achievement’ sub menu option has been added:
You can set search parameters using location, award level and date range & can print Certificates of Achievement for Bronze, Silver and Gold Award levels. Data will be updated on a fortnightly basis, the date being displayed on the screen. You can also select to see only the records for which the certificate has not been printed:

When the 'Print Certificate' button is selected, a pop up box will be displayed giving you the option to print using the 'English', 'Joint Award Initiative' or 'Welsh' certificate template:
A PDF of your chosen certificate(s) will be downloaded on your computer. 50 certificate templates can be generated at one time, if more than 50 participants are selected, an error message will be displayed. Please note: the downloaded document depends on the format you've chosen to use on your computer. It would be best to use a PDF format.
- Make sure that your printer is set to ‘Actual size’, not ‘Fit to page’ or any other sizing option.
- Print your certificates onto the certificate templates (these can be ordered through ‘Essentials’ on eDofE by DofE Managers and Administrators who have the permission to purchase restricted products).
Why can't I see the 'Print Certificate' or 'Download to spreadsheet' button?
You won't be able to see these two buttons if you don't have the 'Can download personal information to CSV files' permission applied. If you don't have this permission and need it, you will need to speak to your DofE Manager.
