1. Register and apply to attend an Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme (EAAS) Course
- You will need to go to the Opportunity Finder, find the course that you want to attend and register and apply for it.
- You will receive an email when you have been approved for the course and it will include the details of the e-learning modules that you must complete before attending the EAAS course
2. Complete the e-learning modules
- To become an accredited assessor, the following e-learning modules will need to be completed:
- e-Induction
- Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme
- To assess Gold level expeditions (or Bronze/Silver in wild country), you'll also need to complete:
- EAAS Gold Assessor
- Once you've completed the modules, a letter of completion will be emailed to you which you must send to the course organiser before you attend the EAAS course

3. Attend an EAAS Course
- The course trains and accredits people who want to assess Bronze, Silver and Gold level expeditions
- It's a one day course which covers the roles and responsibilities of Expedition Assessors
4. Accreditation
- After completing the course, you'll need to complete the EAAS/13 form
- You must gain the endorsement of a Licensed Organisation/Assessor Network/Approved Activity Provider within two years of completing the EAAS course
- Once you've completed the form, you'll need to send it to your regional office who will accredit you and update your eDofE account
- You will then be sent an ID card, certificate and ID card holder
- If you wish to assess for multiple LO/AN/AAPs, then you'll need to complete the EAAS/12 form for each

5. Re-accreditation
- Accreditation lasts for five years and if you wish to continue in the role, you must complete the Re-accreditation Form (EAAS/8)
- A Registration Form (EAAS/12) must be completed for any additional organisation that you wish to assess for
- You won't have to complete the training course again unless it's been up to 2 years since you last assessed
6. Retirement
- If you wish to retire from your involvement with the DofE, the LO/AN/AAP will contact the Regional Office to make sure your accreditation record on eDofE is amended
