To improve Digital Accessibility and User Driven Enhancements the development team have been focusing on the functional enhancements of eDofE. These updates aim to simplify key processes and improve the overall user journey, especially for those who may face challenges accessing or navigating our digital services.
Driven by direct feedback and user experiences, these changes aim to create a smoother, more supportive environment for everyone using the platform.
What’s changing?
Password Reveal at Login
Users will now see an 'eye' icon next to all password boxes, allowing them to view what they’ve typed. This is particularly beneficial for SEND participants who may struggle with hidden inputs or spelling. It reduces login friction without compromising security.
Modern CAPTCHA Replacements
The puzzle-based CAPTCHAs will be replaced with a modern, non-intrusive system (Cloudflare Turnstile) that validates genuine users in the background. This update removes a known accessibility barrier, particularly for users with visual impairments or processing differences.
User driven enhancements to eDofE
Since the start of the year, our development team has been working to identify, discuss, and build meaningful enhancements to eDofE. These improvements are driven by real user feedback and experiences, all with the goal of making eDofE more intuitive and user-friendly.
Assessor Evidence Submissions
Assessor Evidence Submissions Assessors will now be prompted with structured questions when submitting reports via eDofE, mirroring the Assessor Portal. This ensures consistency in reporting and improves the quality of submissions, helping participants receive meaningful feedback and reducing the number of award queries.
This can be found through Manage participants on the left hand menu in the section 'Add evidence'.
For support on how to submit via Assessor Evidence please see article - Assessor Evidence Submissions – DofE
What’s next?
We’ll continue evolving our platforms to ensure they’re as user-friendly, inclusive and intuitive as possible for everyone who interacts with them.
