We are excited to announce the upcoming July development release, which includes several key updates and enhancements to improve your experience with eDofE. We believe these updates will significantly enhance your experience with eDofE and help streamline various processes.
-
Early Adopters Programme (EAP): We are introducing the Early Adopters Programme for eDofE, aimed at managing the transition to the latest version of adult functionality. This programme allows DofE Managers and their Licensed Organisation (LO) staff to toggle between new and legacy designs. The objective is to complete the migration to new screens and technology within 9-12 months, offering improved user experience and controlled pace of change.
For more guidance on EAP, please see the following article - Early Adopters Programme (EAP) – DofE
-
Bulk Enrolment Date Changes: New functionality will allow DofE Managers to change enrolment dates in bulk, addressing issues where incorrect dates were input. This feature will enable bulk editing within 14 days of account creation, with the usual rules around forward or backdating and age restrictions still applying. This will save time and reduce manual errors.

-
Alternative to Abandon Level: We are proposing an alternative to the "abandon level" status for incomplete levels of the award, allowing participants to progress to the next level without losing access to their previous work. The new status, "end level," will archive the incomplete level, making it read-only while preserving the recorded activity and evidence.
For more guidance on this functionality, please see the following article - End Level: An Alternative to Abandon Level – DofE
- Auto-archive Primary Leader: To address the issue of primary leaders who have not logged in for over two years, we will send an email to the DofE Manager to reassign the primary leader role. If no action is taken, the role will be automatically reassigned to the DofE Manager, and the original primary leader's account will be archived for data security.
- LO Permissions Update: We are making important changes to the eDofE platform to enhance data integrity and control. Currently, Licensing Organisations (LOs) have the ability to edit the Person Accountable for the Licence, as well as create, delete and rename centres. The permissions for creating and renaming centres will be transferred and managed in-house by DofE staff. This change will better enable the charity to understand reach and impact as well as progress against DofE's strategic aims and ambitions. If you would like to create, delete or rename a centre going forwards, please contact your Operations Officer.
