We have introduced an alternative to the "abandon level" status for incomplete levels of the award, allowing participants to progress to the next level without losing access to their previous work. The new status, "end level," will archive the incomplete level, making it read-only while preserving the recorded activity and evidence.
Abandon level vs End level
Abandon level: deletes this level entirely from participant’s account. All recorded activity, evidence and achieved certificates will be deleted. If it is the only level, the whole account will be deleted. How do I abandon a level? – DofE
End level: this level of the account will become read only. Participants can still view activity they had previously recorded and access evidence/achieved certificates, but they will not be able to edit or add anything further.
Up until the point where one section of the level is complete, only Abandon level will be available. Once at least one section of a level is complete, both Abandon level and End level options will be displayed.
Permissions
All Administrators and above who have the ‘Can end an Award Level’ permission granted will have access to the end level function.
How do I end a level ?
-
On the participants profile, select the award level i.e. Bronze, Silver or Gold.
-
Click on the ‘End Level’ button. (at least one section of the level needs to be complete for the button to be clickable.)
-
Enter the reason for ending the level. Click the ‘Submit’ button.
-
Click ‘Yes’ to confirm you wish to proceed.
-
A notification will be displayed in the top right hand corner - ‘Award end level was updated successfully’.
-
An ‘Award ended’ status will be added on the participant profile page. The reason for the end level operation can be found under the ‘History’ tab.
Participants will still be able to login to their eDofE account and view all their evidence/achieved certificates but will not be able to make any changes to that award level.
Please contact edofe@dofe.org if you require the end level action revoking or require any further support.
