Within the course boxes the follow Status codes are used:
Attended | Pathway or course has been completed |
In Progress | Unit 01 has been completed, or Managers Onboarding in the Managers pathway has been completed |
Approved | The Learner has been approved to access the pathway and has been added to the Learning Platform and sent Joining Instructions |
Pending Approval | The Learner has applied for the pathway and the approval is yet to be processed. Processing these approvals can take up to 48 hours as it is done manually but can only happen when an account is ‘Active’. When a user logs in and changes their account from ‘New’ to ‘Active’ then this will update the learning platform overnight and create their account. The learning can then be allocated. |
Remember that eDofE is updated by the learning platform overnight, so a user who completes learning on one day will not see that learning showing as completed in eDofE until the following day at the earliest. Training accounts take longer to be updated as these must be updated manually, and this is not done at the weekends.
Within the comments box the following comments might be seen:
A Date | The date the pathway was completed |
Added to LXP | The user has had the learning allocated within the Learning platform |
Created in LXP | The user has had an account created manually in the learning platform and the learning has been allocated |
Deactivated | The learning can’t be allocated to the user as their account is not active within the learning platform. This might be due to their eDofE account being ‘Inactive’, or accounts have been linked which has deleted the account number within the learning platform. |
Viewing from within the training search function - click on the name to show the training.
A pathway is not showing in the courses box but is showing as in progress in the pathways box.
When someone applies for a pathway, we no longer need to manually add them to all the other pathways that are a pre-requisite, in eDofE as courses. This is because the completions are updated automatically, so it is possible that you might see Foundations or Delivering the DofE in progress, without this showing in the courses box. The example below shows the Foundations pathway as complete, but it doesn’t appear in the courses box.
Finding multiple accounts
Training accounts cannot be found using the main search bar.
The example below shows a co-ordinator account which has been archived, but they also have a training account. The training account will only show up in the Training Search, not on the main search bar.
Training accounts can be identified by the words ‘Link to eDofE account’ in the eDofE roles column.
Learning Pathway bookings
Leaders or managers only need to book the last course that they need, we will add the rest automatically.
So, Award Verifiers only need book the AV pathway, we will allocate Foundations.
Those requiring the Managers Pathway only need to book that, we will allocate Foundations and Delivering the DofE.
Those requiring the Expedition Assessor and Supervisor pathway, or the Delivering the DofE pathway only need request that, again we will add foundations.
Effectively the only people who need to book foundations are those who only want to do that.
Seeing the pathways within the Learning Platform
Remember that no other pathways will be visible until the Foundations pathway has been completed, and the Managers pathway will not be visible until Delivering the DofE has been completed, including the Facilitated Discussion and the final assessment.

Any delegates accessing a facilitated discussion should call us if they are having issues as the Discussion closes to new entrants after 5 minutes. Encourage delegates to log on 10 minutes before the discussion is due to start so they can resolve any microphone or camera issues.
