Thank you to everyone who took part in our extensive consultations about updating the re-accreditation process for Assessors. We’ve listened to your feedback and as a result, we’re simplifying the process for Expedition Assessor re-accreditation to make it quicker, easier to use and more environmentally friendly.
We hope this quicker, more streamlined process will make it easier for you to support expeditions.
Overview of changes:
- New knowledge check instead of filling out number of assessments completed
- Automatic re-accreditation and immediate ability to assess without waiting for a card
- Digital card that you can print if needed, available immediately
- Reduced environmental impact by not sending out plastic wallets and cards
Detail of changes:
When you request re-accreditation, instead of filling out the number of assessments you’ve completed in the last five years as you do now, you will be asked to complete a knowledge check about the Assessor role. This knowledge check is based on scenarios that Assessors often encounter and enables you to demonstrate your knowledge and experience as an Assessor. It should only take 12-15 minutes.
Once successfully completed, you can apply for re-accreditation. Instead of having to wait for the re-accreditation to be processed manually, and a card sent in the post, when the request for re-accreditation button is pressed on eDofE, you will be immediately accredited and able to assess expeditions.
You will receive a confirmation email with a PDF of your card. You can then print it if you need to. It will also be available on your eDofE record to download or print anytime whilst it’s valid.
Everything else about registering to be an Assessor will remain the same.
