All participants who have achieved a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award and have an eDofE account are now able to claim a Digital Badge. Participants who have archived accounts will also be able to login and claim their Digital Badge for any achieved Award.
There are also dedicated digital badges in Welsh, and for our Northern Ireland Joint Award Initiative Award holders who have chosen to have their programme recognised as a Gaisce - Presidents Award or The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
What is a DofE Award Digital badge?
A digital badge is an online credential that recognises a young person’s achievement of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It’s a verified, shareable badge that can be added to CVs, job applications and LinkedIn profiles (if over 16), helping young people showcase their skills and stand out to employers or in further education.
To get your digital badge(s):
1. Login to your eDofE account and navigate to the 'My Achievements' page using the left hand menu
In the screenshot above, the participant has fully completed their Bronze and Silver Awards, so these badges can be claimed. The Gold Award badge cannot be claimed as the participant is still completing this award level.
2. Click on the 'Claim your badge' button
3. You can then get your badge, by clicking on the 'Get your badge' button
4. A pop-up window will be displayed.
From here you can view your badge online by selecting 'Get your badge' or add it to your LinkedIn profile (if over 16).
To view your badge online:
-
Click on ‘Get your badge’. This will open your digital badge in a new window.
-
Click ‘show more’ to view your personalised DofE Award digital badge. This webpage URL is unique to your DofE Award and can be added to CV’s and applications.
'Issued on' reflects the date you achieved your Award, formatted as MM/DD/YY (U.S style). This date format is built-in and can't be modified.
To add it to your LinkedIn profile (Web and LinkedIn App only):
Click on 'Add to LinkedIn'. This will open LinkedIn in a new window and you'll be asked to login.
-
A pop up window will be displayed, showing details of the digital badge.
3. Click 'Save' to add it to your LinkedIn profile. You will also be given the option of whether or not to share the update with your LinkedIn network.
4. The digital badge will be displayed under the 'Licenses & Certifications' section of your LinkedIn profile.
