1. Register and apply to attend an Expedition Assessor and Supervisor Training Course (EASTC)
- You will need to go to the Opportunity Finder or contact your Regional/Country Office to find a course that you want to attend and apply for it
- You will receive an email when you have been approved for the course and it will include the details of the e-learning modules that you must complete before attending the EASTC.
2. Complete the e-learning modules
- To become an accredited assessor, the following e-learning modules will need to be completed:
- Introduction to the Expedition Section & Roles
- Once you've completed the modules, a letter of completion will be emailed to you which you must send to the course organiser before you attend the EASTC. If you are logged in to your eDofE account when completing the modules, they will automatically be recorded on your eDofE training record

3. Attend an EASTC
- The EASTC combines the Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme (EAAS) course and Expedition Supervisor Training Course (ESTC) into one course
- Following a transition period, the EASTC will replace both the EAAS and ESTC courses and will be the mandatory course for becoming an accredited assessor
- Delegates will leave the course having a clear understanding of the Expedition Assessor and Supervisor roles and their key tasks - for further information, please see Expedition Assessor And Supervisor Training Course.
- Within two years of completing the course, you'll need to login to your eDofE account and complete the remaining steps outlined in your 'My Expedition Assessor Accreditation'. This includes:
- Completing the EASTC post course knowledge check - you can only access this once you've attended an EASTC
- Being registered by a Licensed Organisation/Approved Activity Provider. The LO/AAP can register you to their organisation on eDofE - How does an LO register an assessor?
- Adding your preferred modes of travel
- Completing your qualifications, experience and technical competency declaration
- Setting your Assessor Directory preferences. More information on the Assessor Directory can be found here: Assessor Directory
- Once you've completed the accreditation steps, you can request accreditation. This is sent to your Primary affiliation for approval. They will need to confirm that the necessary checks have been carried out: How does a Primary affiliation approve an Assessor's request for accreditation?
- This will then be sent to the DofE Head Office for processing. They will then accredit you and your eDofE account will be updated
- You will then be sent an ID card, certificate and ID card holder
- If you wish to assess for multiple LO/AAPs, each LO/AAP will need to register you on eDofE.

- Accreditation lasts for five years
- You and the LO/AN/AAP that you assess for will receive an email 6 months before your accreditation is due to expire
- If you wish to continue in the role, you must request reaccreditation via your eDofE account
- You won't have to complete the EASTC training course again provided you have actively assessed over your previous accreditation period. If it has been two years or more since you last assessed, or since you expired, you may be asked to reattend training in order to revalidate.
- All Assessors must have a current affiliated organisation, and will need to update their Assessor Directory preference to activate the 'Request reaccreditation' button.

- If you wish to retire from your involvement with the DofE, please contact your LO/AAP and also the Accreditation Team (Accreditation@DofE.org) to make sure your accreditation record on eDofE is amended.
