What is the difference between a direct and non direct entrant?
Direct Entrants have not achieved the previous level of the Award. All Bronze participants must be direct entrants.
Indirect Entrants have achieved the previous level of the award.
e.g. A Silver participant who has completed the Bronze Award would be an indirect entrant. If they have not completed the Bronze award they are a direct entrant.
To change a participant's status:
1. Go into the participant profile and click on the relevant award level:
2. Click on ‘Change dates’
3. The radio button for Direct entrant defaults to 'Yes' if the previous level hasn't been completed.
If the previous level has been completed, you just need to select the 'No' radio button instead & then click the 'Save' button:
Please note: If you are changing the participant from a direct entrant to a non-direct entrant, eDofE will automatically adjust the timescales.
If you are changing the participant from a non-direct entrant to a direct entrant you will also need to select a new set of Timescales. This is because non-direct entrants benefit from reduced timescales.
4. A confirmation message will be displayed in the top right corner of the page.
