In order for a section to be completed, an appropriate Assessor's Report must be added. In addition to this, participants may wish to upload other evidence such as photos, activity logs or further details of activities they have been undertaking. When a participant adds new evidence, this evidence requires approval from their Leader. An alert is sent on eDofE to the DofE Leader notifying them of this.
Where do I see all the evidence awaiting approval?
In eDofE, an alert is sent to the DofE Leader each time a piece of evidence is uploaded. The manage alerts page can be found under both the Communications section and Manage Participants --> 'Manage Alerts' in the eDofE navigation menu.
The red number next to 'Alerts' in the 'Communications' menu section indicates the number of participants who have outstanding evidence or programme planners awaiting approval. Please note that participants can have multiple pieces of evidence / programme planners awaiting approval.
The Manage Alerts page shows all sections of a participant's award. A section with a warning triangle inside an orange square indicates that approval is required.
You can hover your mouse over the symbol to find out if its a piece of evidence, a programme planner or both which require approval.

How do I approve or query the uploaded evidence ?
1. From the Manage Alerts page, click on the programme planner / evidence alert symbol (white warning triangle in an orange circle). This will open that section of the award.
2. Click on the 'Evidence' tab at the bottom.
All the participant's evidence for that section will be displayed. Evidence marked with an orange arrow requires approval. Evidence marked with a green tick has already been approved.
You can click on the evidence to enlarge it and/or click the 'edit evidence' icon to crop the image or change the orientation.
3. Once all evidence has been reviewed, you need to select it by placing a tick in the tick box (highlighted in yellow below). You can select multiple pieces of evidence at once, or use the 'Select All' box select all the evidence.
With the evidence selected you can then either 'Approve', 'Query' or 'Unapprove' it.
If you approve the evidence, you will receive the following notification in the top right hand corner of eDofE:
If you are Querying or Unapproving evidence, you will need to provide a reason for this. This will be sent to the participant so they are aware of why the evidence has not been accepted. When the evidence is queried. an email will be sent to the participant advising them to login to their eDofE account to find out the reason why.
Evidence can also be deleted or marked as an Assessor's Report by clicking on the relevant button.
