Certificate of Achievement - Adults – DofE

From 18th of April 2024, a new rule has been put in place for participants who have successfully completed 3 sections on eDofE. Leaders will have a new updated screen to be able to print out the certificate, send to participants or send to participant and print certificate.

Who can print certificates?
This function is available to Leader accounts and above that have the ‘Can download personal
information to CSV files’ permission applied.

Where can I print certificates?
You can print certificates from the left-hand menu under 'Award approvals' where a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ sub menu option has been added.

You can set search parameters using location, award level and date range & can print Certificates of Achievement for Bronze, Silver and Gold Award levels. You can select to see only the records for which the certificate has not been printed:

The two new options are shown on top and at the bottom of the page. The option to 'Send to participant' and 'Print certificate' button will only become available once the participant(s) is ticked.

To 'Send to participant', select the tick box on the participant, once successful a message will show on the top right-hand corner and the 'Sent Date' will be updated.

To 'Send to participant and print certificate' select the tick box on the participant and a pop up will show with the template option.

'Sent to participant successfully' message will show and the 'Certificate Printed' date will be updated.

A PDF of your chosen certificate(s) will be downloaded on your computer. 50 certificates can be generated at one time, if more than 50 participants are selected, an error message will be displayed. Please note: the downloaded document depends on the format you've chosen to use on your computer. It would be best to use a PDF format. Make sure that your printer is set to ‘Actual size’, not ‘Fit to page’ or any other sizing option.

Why can't I see the 'Print Certificate' or 'Download to spreadsheet' button?

You won't be able to see these two buttons if you don't have the 'Can download personal information to CSV files' permission applied. If you don't have this permission and need it, you will need to speak to your DofE Manager.

Leaders will download complete versions of their participants’ sectional certificates/Certificates of Achievement. This will mean they don’t need to be printed onto the certificate paper that was previously purchased through DofE Essentials and instead can be printed themselves. We would recommend printing these certificates directly onto a plain white A4 160-180gsm card.
