What is the Assessor Directory?
We know that each year some LOs and AAPs struggle to find an accredited Assessor, which can mean having to postpone or cancel a qualifying expedition. The Assessor Directory is a new functionality on eDofE where accredited Assessors will be able to share their availability and geographic area with LOs and AAPs if they are willing to assess for other organisations. LOs and AAPs will be able to search for an Assessor, potentially at short notice, for their Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions.
The full Assessor Directory will be launched in January.
While there is no requirement to list themselves on the Directory, Assessors will be required to proactively answer whether or not they want to join. Assessors can change their mind at any point, and existing Assessors will be asked to set their preference during their re-accreditation process.
It is important to note that only Active Assessors will be visible on the Assessor Directory. Active Assessors are those who have a valid accreditation that is in date (i.e. not marked as Inactive or Expired) and who have at least one current affiliation (i.e. they are registered and approved to assess for at least one Licensed Organisation or Approved Activity Provider).
What do I need to do in eDofE?
In order to request accreditation, aspirant assessors will need to set their Assessor Directory preferences. If you decide you would like to be included in the Assessor Directory, you can select the DofE wild country areas that you are happy to assess in as well as the distance from your home addresses that you are happy to travel.
If you haven't already set your Assessor Directory preference, you will need to do this before requesting re-accreditation.
Can I change my mind and opt in/ out of the Assessor Directory?
Yes - you can change your mind at any point and opt in/out of the Assessor Directory via Training > My expedition assessor accreditation:
From there, you can choose to opt in/out and update your preferences:
