Below is the overview of different accounts on eDofE and their permissions. Depending on each adult's tasks/role they will have different permissions assigned to them.
By default, the permissions will be set to deny however the adult with the right permission and in the right hierarchy can change it accordingly. The permissions below can be allowed or denied accordingly.
As a result, an account lower in the hierarchy could, in theory, have access to more functions in eDofE than someone higher in the hierarchy.
Single sign-on was introduced in the summer of 2016 allowing a user to use one set of login credentials to manage a number of different account roles. For more information on how to use single sign-on, please follow the link below:
How do I link accounts (single sign on)?
Training Delegate
Training accounts are created for delegates who have attended a DofE training course or delegates who are due to attend. They are able to see their own training records, pay for DofE run courses and access the DofE’s suite of e-learning courses. They don’t have any access to participants or any adults details. They're also able to view the Resources zone, access eDofE Mapping and view DofE social media news.
Participant Group level
This account is for a young person who is undertaking a DofE Award. Participants can log in to their eDofE account and record progress towards their award. They are able to message and submit elements of their award (e.g. programme plans, sections and/or awards) to their leader(s) within their hierarchy. They can message their peers if they are in the same group, access eDofE mapping, buy DofE gifts and souvenirs and many more.
Helper Group level
Helper account has very limited functionality. Helpers are not able to interact with and/or view awards that participants are undertaking in eDofE. Helper level accounts can access some of the external applications held within eDofE.
Overview of the Helper account functions:
- eDofE Mapping
- eDofE message (between adults in their hierarchy)
- View DofE information
- Resource Zone
- View eDofE news
- eDofE Training Records: Personal only
- Access DofE discount vouchers
Leader Group level
A leader is an adult responsible for a DofE group. They lead, guide and encourage young people throughout their DofE programme. They approve their programme planners and sign off evidence and sections in eDofE. Leaders are able to interact with participants on eDofE that have been allocated to their specific group(s) only.
Overview of the leader’s permission which can be allowed/denied accordingly.
