Participant Assessor reports that are submitted via the Assessor Report Portal dofe.org/assessor are currently reviewed by an adult, prior to becoming visible to a participant. The average time across all our licensed operators is 12 days from submission. This step was initially introduced to ensure that no inappropriate content could be sent from a public facing website directly to a young person. This however introduced a bottleneck in approvals, as of 4th October 2022 there are over 10K assessor reports waiting to be approved with the oldest having been submitted 13 months ago. With our new solution we will improve safety of young people and speed up and eliminate a little administrative burden on Leaders.
From January 2025 all assessor reports submitted via the portal are automatically checked against a profanity database. Reports that are not flagged by the system are sent to the participants account and are visible immediately. Reports that are flagged by the system are held for review and can take up to 72 hours to be visible on the participant’s account. Please be reassured, if an assessor receives a confirmation email, the report will have been successfully submitted.
It remains the role of the Leader to quality check and validate all assessments that have reached the participant, relevant to the section.

Q Do I have to approve the report again?
Once this is on the participants account you do not have to approve again as it is automatically system approved. The leader can review when the section is ready to be approved.
Q Why is the wait 72 hours?
The 72 hour wait is in place to give enough time for an alert to be reviewed and released if an alert is raised on a Friday or a Bank Holiday.
Q It has been over 72 hours, the participant has not yet received the report?
In these situations please ensure the Assessor has received a confirmation email, if no confirmation email has been received the report will need resubmitted. If they have received a confirmation email it could be that the report is currently being reviewed to find out more in this situation it would be best to contact eDofE@dofe.org
Q The email on the report is showing incorrectly, how can I change this?
The email on the report is the email that requested the verification code, once a verification code is requested and entered it will not be required again for 6 months as it is saved in the cache. To re-request the verification code and change the email address on the report, you will need to clear your cache (instructions can be found here) or use an incognito browser.
Q I have requested a verification code but have not received it?
Please can you ensure your checking your junk/spam folder for the verification email, this email will be coming from noreply@dofe.org, if you are still unable to find the verification code please contact eDofE@dofe.org
Q When trying to submit the report it is saying 'Section already approve'?
There could be a few reasons why this error message is showing, the participant may have provided you the incorrect ID number, section or level, please confirm the details are correct with the participant.
Q When trying to submit the report it is saying 'Second form data insert error'?
This is caused by emojis or certain symbols being added to the report, please ensure there is no emojis in the report and try to resubmit it.
